HELP US TO IMPROVE THE RURAL SCHOOL "OULAD HASSAN"

Presentation:

​

DESTINO MUNDO NGO, after knowing, analyzing and evaluating the situation of rural schools in Essaouira region in southern Morocco, UNDERTAKES A PROJECT ON HUMANITARIAN AID, INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION AND “OULAD HASSAN” SCHOOL DEVELOPMENT.

 

 “Oulad Hassan” School is one of a group of 5 schools under the same Direction. They are distributed in many mountain areas and cover a perimeter of 70km. The five schools share a precarious situation and poor conditions for their utilization.

 

“Oulad Hassan”, the basis school, is 30km away by car from the nearest city, Essaouira. The only way to arrive there is by foot because it is on the slope of a mountain, 4km away from the nearest local road.

 

Nowadays, it has 3 classrooms on active which are semi-equipped and 2 unfinished classrooms – with only walls and roof- which are not on active because they are not equipped for their use.

 

These schools receive 70 children more or less. They are mainly Amazigh (Berber) and live on the mounts and mountains in unhygienic living environments and walk many kilometres to arrive to school.

The classrooms receive groups of over 25 children who have different ages and learning levels. They lack of enough classroom material for a good education development.

 

Our aim is TO FINISH THE WORK, TO BUILD AND IMPROVE THE CLASSROOMS AND TO SUPPLY THE SCHOOL WITH CLASSROOM MATERIAL SO THAT THE STUDENTS HAVE THE OPORTUNITY TO ACCESS A DECENT EDUCATION.

 

DESTINO MUNDO NGO has volunteer manpower thanks to international partners and to the local community. We need help to acquire the required material for the classrooms refurbishment works and to provide these classrooms of a floor, windows, doors, paint and the required elements for its use (desks, chairs and a blackboard).
