Our Arts and Children Program is linked to the arts as part of the educational process and social transformation.

During the month of July the volunteer coexists with local families, living a unique experience of immersion in the Moroccan social reality and develop activities focused on the experience through the arts as an evolutionary tool of the child. Activities are conducted with various groups of different social status, culture, age, and educational level. This provides opportunities for improvement in the child's development, positively affecting the field of equality, integration, reinforcing their emotional and creative apparatus and fostering respect and the desire to learn by sharing experiences.

The volunteer will perform his voluntary activity from a program that will cover several artistic disciplines (dance, music, plastic, interpretation, painting ...), designed by the volunteer himself.

The place destined to carry out the voluntary activity is the headquarters of the Association BAYTI (shelter of children at risk of social exclusion) in the city of Essaouira.

Humanitarian Action: through a program that encompasses learning, solidarity, social cohesion, and cultural integration,

What you should know about I.V.?

The coexistence during the I.V. Is with local people, in a traditional Muslim society with strong customs values and rooted in their beliefs. This implies on the part of the volunteer, respect for other forms of life no matter how far they may be from theirs.

In undertaking international cooperation in a country with a distinct culture, the organization must ensure that the development of the objectives is achieved without altering the social framework in which cooperation takes place. This is accomplished from respect for cultural diversity and tolerance. That is why the volunteer, must respect the customs of the place where he is going to carry out his voluntary activity.

Moroccan society is tremendously hospitable, the sauiris (originally from Essaouira) have a natural calm of the villages serenaded by the sea but they are also a town with much intellectual restlessness, enjoy talking, learning, drinking and sharing. They will always be available to help the volunteers in everything that is necessary, and to make them participate of their world, integrating them in their culture. Being a privileged experience for volunteers who come to know from within the Moroccan culture itself.

It is not allowed to drink alcohol, either in the host family home or in the BAYTI headquarters where there is voluntary activity, as we are not disrespectful to our hosts.

It is advisable for volunteers to cover their shoulders, also as a sign of respect.

It is important to wear sunscreen, hat, windbreaker, insect repellent and flip-flops.

With regard to health, the foods are first-hand, they have an impressive taste and there is no problem with eating the traditional cuisine. Yes we strongly recommend drinking bottled water and never drink tap water, as it can cause diarrhea and vomiting.

All volunteers must have medical insurance covering all their voluntary activity. In case of emergency, the Project Coordinators will manage your transfer to a medical center and assist you at all times.

You can do two projects of I.V. Followed, as long as you register with them well in advance. In this case, your travel insurance should cover all voluntary activity.

Once the registration formalized, DESTINO MUNDO NGO will indicate the steps to follow and will offer you specialized information for each project.
